How It Works - App Only System Management

Vanguard Wireless devices build a communications network using either internal radio frequency or cellular modules. If your site is just using cellular connected devices, you can manage your Vanguard Wireless evacuation or nurse all system entirely from your app. We ship the system fully connected so all you need to do is power up and install the devices where you need them.

How It Works

App only system management is a unique solution that still offers a combined hardware + software solution, but is controlled from your phone - wherever you are. It's ideal for sites where a radio frequency network is too difficult to establish due to issues with range or access. 

All devices and the app connect and communicate with the rest of the system via the Vanguard Wireless cloud. Signals are pushed to and from devices and the smartphone app in real time, regardless of where you are.

A Game Changer in Safety Alert Systems
Imagine managing your safety alert system entirely from your smartphone. With the Vanguard Wireless App, you can do just that. This app removes all speculation about the health and connectivity of your system and devices, leaving nothing to chance.
It allows you to:

  • View individual unit power and connectivity status in real time
  • Be alerted when a device has lost connection
  • Easily reposition a device and rename it with the new location
  • Trigger evacuation events
  • Trigger nurse call events
  • Receive evacuation alerts via the app and SMS notification
  • Authorise site evacuations (if authority protocols are in place)
  • Receive nurse call alerts via the app and SMS notification
  • Respond to nurse call alert
  • Create virtual device locations
  • Add geofencing around the perimeter of the site for targeted event messaging and worker location identification e.g. have they evacuated?

The app is available for iPhone and Android. Using the web-based user portal you can set up 50 users at one of three access levels: Worker (evacuation messages + device list), Manager (full permissions), or customised (deselect/select what permissions you wish the user to have based on their role and authority).

As with all of our systems, you can download reports on users, events, activities for process improvement and event auditing.
