Virtual Systems

Some sites require a virtual solution due to the public nature of the works or because it makes practical sense to use worker smartphones as triggering devices. If your site does not necessarily need or want hardware as part of your workplace emergency system, then you should talk to us about your options for introducing a virtual solution.

A Vanguard Wireless virtual system solution can be evacuation event or nurse call event focused, or a combination of the two. Virtual devices can be used on construction sites, in aged care or assisted living, at schools or public spaces, and in factories or industrial facilities.

How it works:

• there's no physical triggers or sirens
• a virtual trigger is created by Vanguard Wireless and assigned a physical position (e.g. level 4, Harris Street, south end)
• during an emergency event, a worker finds the closest virtual device location from the device list and triggers an event from there
• alerts are pushed out to nominated personnel via the app and SMS
• the system is managed entirely via the smartphone app and User Portal
• all activity is logged for event reporting and auditing

You can install an unlimited number of triggers and can rename them via the smartphone in minutes. You can also give different workers different authorities so some can only receive an alert (evacuation), some can trigger an alert (evacuation or nurse call), and some have full permissions to manage the system.

Physical evacuation or nurse call triggers, evacuation sirens, wearable nurse call triggers, smoke sensors, and the touchscreen control unit (TCU) can be added at a later date as your site or needs evolve. Virtual devices can also be added to an existing physical system.
